(No one has the monopoly in helping those who are in need), this was the message of Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon at the convention of rescue organizations in the National Capital Region held at Eton Centris in Quezon City on Tuesday.
Most of the rescue groups within Metro Manila, including volunteers and local government units, have graced the event.
Kuya Daniel said the gathering aims to further strengthen and expand the knowledge of every rescuer toward responding to those in need.
Each of us should be equipped with what we can do to our fellowmen and by rendering it to them in times of need. No group, not even a rescue group can be monopolized. No. We should be working hand in hand in order to widen the scope of our capabilities and likewise, to be able to provide assistance to those who are in need of it.)
For this reason, Kuya Daniel Razon led UNTV Rescue in launching the Emergency Race competition.
It is a competition where each participating rescue group will compete in responding to rescue operations.
Lahat ng participants ay mga rescue groups sa iba’t-ibang lugar sa National Capital Region for a start.”(Emergency Race is like a UNTV Cup of rescuers. For a start, participants will include different sorts of rescue groups from the different parts of the National Capital Region.)
A five-hectare lot provided by UNTV Rescue will serve as a training ground for all the participating rescue groups in Metro Manila including other related activities.
Furthermore, a plan to tap all rescue groups in Metro Manila in order to come up with unified call center hotline, 911-UNTV (911-8688), is already in the works.
The rescue groups are looking forward to this plan.
Text Fire Philippines Administrator Jeric Chua said, “Ang Text Fire laging full support sa UNTV. So kahit ano pa ang gawin natin, laging nandyan ang Text Fire.”(Text Fire Philippines is in full support to UNTV. So, whatever we do, Text Fire will always be there.)
NATCOM Director Henry Yang conveyed his group’s appreciation to UNTV Rescue’s efforts.
So, kailangan namin additional training sa aming mga tauhan.”(It is actually good for us. We really need those that were mentioned by Kuya Daniel, an area which will serve as our training ground for free is an advantage to us because of the less expenditure. Likewise, to have additional training among our personnel is another advantage.)
We hope that this is the start of a unified rescue group. Not only in the National Capital Region, where we have started this gathering, but we also aim at reaching all the different sorts of rescue group coming from all parts of the Philippines. Let us all unite in this advocacy in helping our fellow people.)
